While Builders Profile will now form part of the Fortius Group, the Builder’s Profile service will continue to operate separately alongside ConstructionLine and Altius VA for the foreseeable future.
I’m a subcontractor, how does this affect my BP account?
The Builder’s Profile service will continue as now. The only changes will be to provide you with access to extra benefits. All members will be able to import their Constructionline CAS assessments, while Premium members will also have their details available for searching and viewing by the Constructionline Buyer community. Therefore if you wish to, you’ll be able to use your Profile to gain Constructionline Common Assessment Standard accreditation without the need to complete more forms.
If I'm a Constructionline member and a BP member how will the services be integrated?
We recognise that some Main Contractors like to perform their own assessments and so use Builder’s Profile, while others prefer to outsource this function to Constructionline. We do not accept that this decision should require their supply chain partners to complete the whole PQQ process for both services, so the main benefit of this transaction is to enable your information to flow seamlessly between the two platforms. Once this process is in place, you’ll be able to choose where you enter and maintain your information, but end users of both services will be able to see both your information and your assessment results.
I'm BP Premium member, will there be discounts for both?
Our first goal is to deliver even more value from your existing BP Premium Membership by making your Premium Profile visible to all the Constructionline Buyer community. Once that’s in place, we’ll be able to look at options for a more cost effective solution for you
Will I need both memberships?
You can continue using either or both services – whichever suits your business best.
Will my BP Profile be assessed like Constructionline?
You’ll have the option of using your Builder’s Profile to seek full-blown assessments from Constructionline, for example, to gain the new Common Assessment Standard which is being adopted by the industry.
CL offer CAS, can I apply for this through BP?
YES. If you don’t already have a Constructionline assessment, you’ll be able to apply for one using the data contained within your Builder’s Profile – saving you time and money while keeping all your information in one place and making it visible to all the Main Contractors you need to work with.
If I have CAS through CL, how will this impact my BP Profile?
If you already have a Constructionline assessment such as the new Common Assessment Standard, you’ll be able to import your assessment results and evidence into your Builder’s Profile as well, so that your chosen Main Contractors can see all of your assessments and underpinning information and documents through the Builder’s Profile platform.
I have Acclaim SSIP, and BP, will I have to submit to both organisations for renewal?
Initially, at your request we’re focussing on using your Profile to apply for Constructionline CAS assessment. Once this is up and running, we’ll be looking to do the same for the Acclaim SSIP assessment.
Will the questionnaires be made the same?
For the foreseeable future the two services will continue to operate independently. This means that question sets will still be maintained by Builder’s Profile in line with the questions our Main Contractors need to ask. However, our own Common Assessment Standard (CAS) question set will be brought into line with the Constructionline question set [as the whole industry looks to increase efficiencies and min common standards]. We expect that, over time, more and more of our BP Main Contractors will use this as the base for their own question sets.
Can I use BP to apply for CL?
YES. If you’re a BP Premium Member, you will be able to use your Profile as the basis for your Constructionline assessment. The benefit of this transaction is that you’ll also be able to import your assessment results and make them visible to the BP Main Contractor community.
Can I use BP to apply for SSIP Acclaim?
Initially, we’re focussing on using your existing Profile to apply for Constructionline CAS assessment in an efficient way. Once this is up and running, we’ll be looking to do the same for the Acclaim SSIP assessment.
What does BP do that is different to CL
BP and CL are essentially different aspects of the same need for supply chain verification. Builder’s Profile focuses on the collection, maintenance and dissemination of subcontractor compliance and capability information through its ‘open-access Common Database’. Constructionline is well-known as a leading provider of outsourced assessment services. Essentially, you should use Builder’s Profile to maintain and share your compliance information with the BP community and beyond. You should use CL if you want or need to have your information independently assessed. In order to reach the widest possible marketplace you should consider using both services to present your assessed details.
For Main Contractor Clients
As a main contractor, how does this affect my BP account and the way I manage my supply chain?
Nothing will change in the foreseeable future. It is anticipated that the businesses will continue to operate separately, but there will be greater opportunities for customers to utilise both services.
Will we still be able to assess in-house?
YES. Everything about the current Builder’s Profile service will continue, but you’ll also have the opportunity to smoothly utilise Constructionline services alongside your current operational methods, should you choose to do so.
Will we still have control over the PQQ questions we ask?
YES. The BP platform will continue to operate as it currently does. This means you will retain control over your question and rule sets. Some additional questions will be available if you want to use them, eg the Constructionline CAS question set.
What are the potential benefits to us?
The most obvious benefit is that, should you choose to, you will be able to combine the best of both services. For example, maintaining full supply chain information visibility while offering Common Assessment Standard (CAS) assessments using the same Profile data, thus saving considerable time and money for your supply chain. Builder’s Profile will be retaining its own independent software development team so the features you want will still be our priority although now we will have access to greater resources. In general, the company will have a surer long-term financial stability which obviously reduces your risk exposure in choosing and continuing to use the Builder’s Profile service.
